Hi! I’m Dr. Sam Poindexter, your Resilient Strength Coach. I’m a certified personal trainer, wellness coach, and educator who believes strength should make your life bigger—not smaller. With over a decade in fitness and a background in higher education, I specialize in helping people navigate acute injuries, chronic pain, and the everyday challenges that impact how we move, feel, and take care of ourselves. All while building sustainable strength, confidence, and resilience.
My process centers on smart, sustainable training—not extremes.
We start with an assessment to understand how you move, what contributes to pain, and what you want to be able to do, then build a personalized training plan with clear coaching and education along the way.
How I can help support your goals
I offer coaching and support in three primary ways. All options are individualized, evidence-based, and designed to help you move forward with confidence. Services are offered in structured packages so we can build momentum, check in on progress, and adapt over time—because meaningful change doesn’t happen in a single session.

This option is ideal if you’ve finished physical therapy or been cleared to exercise but don’t feel ready to train on your own. We work together through personalized strength training and coaching—either in person or remotely—to build strength safely, address your current limitations, and support the activities you care about most.

Are comfortable training on their own and want a structured, expert-developed program tailored to their specific history, goals, and current capacity
Have access to a gym or equipment
Prefer flexibility in when and where they train
Don’t need ongoing, real-time coaching but want guidance and accountability
Remote program design is ideal if you want a personalized strength plan without live sessions. You’ll receive a customized program built around your goals, movement history, and available equipment, along with virtual check-ins and ongoing support to review progress, make adjustments, and answer questions as you go. The focus is thoughtful progression—without guesswork, extremes, or one-size-fits-all templates.

Health & Wellness Coaching focuses on increasing your awareness, confidence, and capacity for change. Rather than prescribing rigid plans, we work together to clarify your goals, identify what’s getting in the way, and develop practical strategies that fit your real life.
This can include nutrition support, developing healthier habits, managing stress, navigating pain, and creating routines that support long-term health and movement. Through coaching and behavior-change techniques, I help you build sustainable momentum so positive changes actually stick.
